Focus on focusing

At Prowess Project, we have spent the last three weeks being maniacally focused on, well, focus. Leah and I have been running 100 miles per hour for four months now. Finally, we looked up and realized how scattered our days were.

I’d be spitting out social posts then be interrupted to answer a Project Manager’s question, then:

Oh, wait, did I get back to the potential strategic partner?

And, hmmmm. that messaging on the website could be slightly more clear, lemme dive into WordPress.

By the way, how’s our pipeline looking?

HubSpot, how many dashboard views can I create to measure every little thing?

Are you dizzy yet? Because we were…

When starting a company, it’s critical that we use our time wisely. But you are reporting to yourself, you have to find other ways to be accountable.

And voila! The Austin Impact Hub Accelerator.

Prowess Project is proud to share that we are apart of the 4th cohort focusing on social impact companies, specifically solving workforce development and housing affordability issues.

The first homework was to define our goals aka write them down and share with the facilitators (yes, the woo-woo in me loves that I’m forced to put a goal out into the Universe - all the more power to help it will come true).

Prowess Projects’ goals focus on the second of our two-audience, companies in need of skilled talent at a reasonable price.

I’m working with the team at Blue Sky Partners, one of the accelerator sponsors, to help us do just that. I’m hoping to get help checking our blind spots, brainstorming new ideas, and integrating more technology to help spread the word and deliver the best user experience possible.

By the end of the cohort (around October time), I feel confident that we’ll have a dialed-in strategy and steps to achieve it. Stay tuned…
